
Photographs of the transformation of Ghana fans is part of an interactive exhibition by World Press Photo and Twenty Ten of African photographers at the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam from 12 June to 22 August 2010.

Simone was selected as part of the Dream Team as a multimedia journalist during the World Cup in June 2010 in South Africa. This photograph is of a girl who lives in an abandoned building in crime ridden Hillbrow in central Johannesburg. “I wanted to capture some of my own fear as I entered the building with the teenager through a broken window.”

Simone exhibits the stories of her ‘nannies’ as well as a photo-essay as part of the exhibition “Mother Nature, art and psychology in conversation’ at the SASOL gallery in Stellenbosch untill 14 February 2011.

Simone is back in Cape Town after completing an MA in International Multimedia Journalism at the Beijing Foreign Studies University in China in September 2011.
